DocuSign vs Adobe Sign: which keeps data in Canada?

Where each stores and processes data, and who owns each company, from the vendors' own pages. Not features or prices.

The short answer

DocuSign: yes.

For Canadian customers, DocuSign stores data in Canada. Where it is processed: Canada for eSign data at rest. It is owned by a US company, so the US CLOUD Act can require it to produce data it controls, wherever that data is stored.

Tier 4: US-owned, Canadian region

Adobe Acrobat Sign: no.

Adobe Acrobat Sign does not offer storage in Canada. Where it is processed: Outside Canada. It is owned by a US company, so the US CLOUD Act can require it to produce data it controls, wherever that data is stored.

Tier 5: Data leaves Canada

Both are owned by US companies, so the US CLOUD Act can require either to produce data it controls, wherever that data is stored.

Worth knowingAn existing account elsewhere needs a new Canadian account; Canadian-environment mail comes from dse_ca@docusign.net.Adobe announced Canadian data centres for Acrobat and Express in late September 2026 (existing customers migrated in early 2027); Acrobat Sign runs on separate data centres and is not named.
