Does Supabase store data in Canada?
Managed Postgres, auth, storage, edge functions
Yes, if you choose it.
Supabase offers Canadian storage, but you have to choose it, and it may depend on your plan. It is owned by a US company, so the US CLOUD Act can require it to produce data it controls, wherever that data is stored.
Tier 4: US-owned, Canadian regionData can be stored in Canada, and the owner is a US company.

The facts, claim by claim
- Where data is stored
- Canada (Central) ca-central-1 (AWS)
- Where it is processed
- Database, Auth and Storage run in the chosen region; Edge Functions can be pinned to ca-central-1
- Support and backups
- Backups stay in the chosen region; telemetry, logs and service metadata are processed outside your region (Supabase)
- Owner
- Supabase Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) as default contracting entity; Supabase, Inc. (Dover, Delaware) for AWS Marketplace purchases · Parent country: United States
- Servers run by
- Amazon Web Services · US company
- Customer-held keys
- Not recorded
- Certifications
- Not recorded (blank means not checked, not none)
- Worth knowing
- Telemetry and logs leave the region, so "in Canada" is true for the data and not for the logs.
- Caveats
- The group has a US (Delaware) entity, and the infrastructure is AWS. A project cannot be moved between regions after creation.
What the rules say about this
- US CLOUD Act: The owner is a US company: storing data in Canada does not take it out of reach of US legal process.
- Nova Scotia public bodies: Storage and access must both be in Canada: check support access and backups, not only storage.
- Québec Law 25: Canada is not Québec: storage in Toronto still needs a privacy impact assessment for Québec data.
- OCAP®: Data held by any outside vendor is not in the Nation's possession, whoever owns the vendor.
